Osteopathy can help
The holistic approaches used by osteopaths are also used by a number of other health professionals including chiropractors. Both osteopaths and chiropractors are regulated by law and have to be registered with their regulatory council (such as the general council of chiropractors, GCC). This ensures that you know that you will receive a minimum standard of care and treatment whatever chiropractor or osteopath you choose to visit.
Similarly to osteopathic education and training, chiropractors will have undertaken a 3 or 4 year degree (accredited with the general council of chiropractors) before they can become registered with the GCC.
Osteopathic care is by no means restricted to back pain, osteopaths commonly treat a wide range of other conditions, many related to posture problems, sporting injuries, muscle and joint degeneration, restricted mobility and occupational ill-health.
Osteopathy is a flourishing healthcare profession in the UK with around 30,000 people currently consulting osteopaths every working day.
" Has been a great help to me over the past few years helping me to manage my back problems.I would recommend gar to any of my friends if in need of an osteopath. " Paul Johnson
" Once again another satisfying appointment with Gar Nevin! Sleepless nights and ridiculous tension, all gone in one sitting! Highly recommended through his outstanding work and his charming caring personality! Best man around for all your aches and pains! Thanks Gar! " Alex Brunt
" My mum has been attending the Cherry Hill clinic, and is not on Facebook, so she asked me to write a review on her behalf as she is very impressed indeed with her treatment. She also would like her practitioner to know that she has received brilliant treatment, he is a good listener and that his service is great value for money. Thank you. Mrs Sally Barnes on behalf of Denise Ody. " Sally Barnes
" Very friendly, very helpful, good value, and most importantly, got my back and neck sorted with minimal fuss or pain. All the osteopathic workings were explained, Gar was gentle with his workings, yet effective enough to cure the problems. I would, and do recommend the cherry hill clinic to anyone. " David Wood
" Having previously consulted traditional physiotherapists, sports injury physios, a specialist spinal therapist and a podiatrist, I first visited Gar 10 years ago when I was suffering an acute episode of lower back pain. Within a few treatments I was able to return to normal activities. I have several joint problems (spondylitis near to my neck, arthritis in my upper back nd a lateral curve of my spine at about hip level) all of which made me vulnerable to skeletal injury causing numerous aches, pains and sciatica. However, regulary visting Gar as a form of preventative maintenance is the best decision I made. I haven't had an acute episode of lower back pain within the last 9 years. Whenever I meet anyone who says they suffer back pain or joint problems I recommend a visit to Cherry Hill Clinic. Gar is a great guy; professional, very empathetic, a great listener and helps me to maintain an active life. " Mrs D, Stoke on Trent
" I have been going to see Gar for almost 2 years now and every 6 weeks or so, he treats my very stiff neck and back joints to a much needed deep massage and gentle manipulation. Being a lady golfer of a certain age, I can feel my joints stiffen up as the weeks progress! After my visit to the clinic I leave with a much improved range of movement and feel much less stiffness in my body. Gar is always a gentleman, veyr professional and friendly. I would highly recommend a visit to Cherry Hill Clinic to anyone. " Ali Taylor
" From time to time I suffer severe back and leg pain due to a trapped nerve. For ages I just struggled on taking painkillers and resting up until someone suggested seeing Gar, I am so glad I did. In such a short time I was up and mobile again. So now whenever I have back issues I go and see Gar, I cant recommend his service highly enough and he is a nice guy to boot. " Sparkyboy
" About 4 years ago I trapped my Sciatic nerve and went to Garin severe pain, struggling to walk and taking loads of medication. With 1 treatment I was able to half this and by the second medication was minimal, with a few more treatments I was out of pain. I cannot recommend him more highly! I now go back for treatment if any stiffness returns. At all times Gar makes you feel under control of the whole process and I have every confidence in him. As such I recommend him to any of my friends if they require help. " P.H 2015
" Gar restored much of my back flexability, which helped to recover my declining golf performance. I would certainly recommend Gar to my golfing friends, particularly as they are getting older! I believe it to be fair value for the quality of treatment offered. I first went to Gar on the recommmendation of a physiotherapist who was leaving the area. Do not expect any fancy machines. This treatment is all hands on! You get his individual attention, and he is thorough in all that he does. " Rodger UK
" My spine was out of line, causing me to have a bent appearance. I visit the clinic every 5 to 6 weeks and since doing so my appearance has become much straighter and the treatment has releaved me of my pain. I would recommend this clinic. " David UK
" I have been to the Cherry Hill Clinic for just over 2 years, mainly for treatment of my lower back. I slipped a disc (not the proper medical term) when I was skiing. This caused me significant pain and movement loss, after several sesssions at the clinic I was back to normal. To the extent that I managed to pass my skydiver and paraglider license, which requires good flexibility/fitness. I now attend every 2 to 3 weeks as a preventative measure. If you participate in sports, such as climbing, kayaking, I would highly recommend seeing Gar as a preventative measure or treatment for back, neck and shoulders. He won't tell you to stop doing the activities, but help you do them while avoiding injury. " Richard Noyes UK
" Gar first treated me 15 years ago. I was impressed then by his ability to free up my body and increase my range of movement, especially in my neck, lower back and hip areas. He can very quickly pinpoint areas of weakness and has recommended exercises to maintain my ageing body, enabling me to continue to do a variety of sports in my mid 50's. Would highly recommend and trust him. " Anne O'Connell UK
" Gar is a great guy very polite and understanding, i go to see him weekly due to an accident i had last year. i didn't get treated properly by physioworld for one only getting seen once a month and according to Gar he said that my problem lied within the vertebrae as they had seized up over time and physioworld didnt spot this and my treatment wasn't getting anywhere, a complete waste of time and put me back to square one. since seeing Gar i feel that real progress has been made and im currently on my 7th treatment with my back getting alot looser and flexible but still with more treatment to come. I would highly recommend him! he always tries to fit me in where possible around work ect. a top guy! " Shane Hodgkinson
" I have been using Gar for many years now, both when I have any muscular issues and as part of a regular monthly “maintenance programme”, to ensure that these muscular issues are kept to a minimum. I have always found Gar to be very friendly and personable, whilst at the same time highly professional and knowledgeable in his subject. He is always willing to spend time explaining why a problem may have occurred and therefore how to avoid it in the future. I spend a lot of my working day desk-bound, but also like to do a lot of running in my own time. This creates the possibility for many muscular/skeletal problems, but with Gar’s help, advice and monthly treatment these have been few and far ... " Carl Pate
" From a clicky jaw to a sharp pain in my hip, Gar has been the first person I go to when I'm having any muscular-skeletal problem. I trust him as an osteopath, have recommended him to many people over the years and will continue to do so. " Andrea Pate
" Always a very good professional, personal service from Gar. Helps all aches and pains you may have. Would highly recommend. " Chris Hoptroff
" For the past few weeks, I have been attending Cherry Hill Clinic, Gar Nevins Osteopathic clinic. I find him very caring, honest and professional and would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone suffering pain. " Shirley Dickens
" For the past five years I have been receiving care at Cherry Hill Clinic. Gar Nevin is professional and friendly and always tries to put you at ease whilst treating you. Also for the past 18 months my family has also been receiving treatment with the same quality of care and we would all gladly recommend Gar's service at any time." Viv Drewitt
" For many years I have suffered with extremely bad headaches and neck pain. Following a few sessions of manipulation on my neck and head area by Mr Nevin my headaches are less frequent, less painful and my neck pain is much improved. I would highly recommend Mr Nevin." Mrs P Chesters
" I have been using Gar Nevin for over 3 years now and always 'enjoyed' his ministrations as he attempts to restore a not-so-young body to something approaching working condition. Gar has a lovely, easy going, relaxing demeanour along with a good set of one liners about heads coming off in his hands. I would thoroughly recommend Gar to anyone- he really has sorted out my various aches and strains over the years. " Tim Whitehead
